“France gets 1,000-euro gold coin”: Radio France Internationale


gold-silver-euros-french… and with a price of €1,000 per 20 grams, and gold at about €1,045 per troy oz. (32 grams), this means people are happily lining up around the block to pay the French State a seignorage of about €345 per coin to buy EU Legal Tender issued by a Member State, but backed by gold. Perhaps someone in our own Department of Finance might take a hint? (But, those being the geniuses that were selling off our gold a few years ago…)
